Dear Editor,

Superior Avenue Elementary thanks area businesses and community members for over $200 in book fair gifts.

Local business and community members answered the call when Superior Avenue Elementary recently asked them to make a difference in students' lives.

The monetary donations were used to purchase books for underprivileged students.

Sponsors of the 2003 book fair included: Hancock Bank of Louisiana; Mr. and Mrs. Shea Penton; Schillings Greenhouse; Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Robertson; Gaylord Chemical; Charlotte Schilling; Dr. Gary Parker; Dr. Aaron Thompson and Bethlehem Baptist Church.

A host of students, parents, and family members visited the fair Wednesday evening to attend Superior's first Pizza for Parents Night. They purchased many books and helped raise money to promote literacy.

Thanks to much hard work, the Scholastic Book Fair at Superior avenue elementary was a huge success.
