Middleton is candidate for Dist. 12 Senate seat

FOLSOM — Stanley Middleton, a retired contractor, a resident of Folsom for 37 years and a democrat, announces his entrance into the race for Senator of District 12.

Middleton, who ran in 1999, said he believes in no unnecessary taxes and fees, better education and roads, less government and crime, help for our farmers and dairy farmers. He added that's he's also concerned about "our growing loss of privacy and freedom."

Born in New Orleans and a graduate of Fortier High School, he attended Louisiana State University on an athletic scholarship. Middleton was also a national director, on the board of directors of the NSPI and a member of the Naval Air Reserves for many years.

Middleton is married and has four children who all attended local schools.

Middleton said the following statement made by Patrick Henry is what pushes him to enter this race, "The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people. It is an instrument for the people to restrain the government — less it comes to dominate our lives and interests."
