Eight charged in drug busts

BPD operation involved about a dozen suspects

BOGALUSA n The Bogalusa Police Department continues to go after people suspected of distributing illegal drugs in town. And this week, an operation involving about a dozen suspects is coming to a close.

Eight people have been taken into custody and three more are wanted in connection with the three-month undercover operation.

The BPD Friday released the names of the people arrested and of those still wanted after warrants were obtained for alleged drug violations.

Those arrested during the bust include the following: Penny Ashley, 49, 11262 Don Bates Road, distribution of Xanax; Jimmy Bazor, 66, 1719 Monroe St., distribution of Roxicodone and Lorcet; Catherine Bergeron, 47, 1102 Monroe St., distribution of Lorcet; Linda Hunt, 53, 250 Willa Villa Drive, distribution of Xanax and Lorcet; Leroy Castilow, 68, 916 Wilmuth St., distribution of Methadone; Glynn Talley Jr., 43, 29595 Louisiana Highway 16, distribution of Methadone and Roxicodone; Dena Thomas Talley, 38, 29595 LA Hwy. 16, distribution of Methadone and Roxicodone and Jene Verger, 53, 1114 Jackson St., distribution of Methadone and Roxicodone.

Warrants have also been obtained for the following: Eloise McCain Applewhite, 36, 1032 Cora Williams Road, who is wanted for distribution of Methadone and Lorcet; Ricky Applewhite, 42, 1032 Cora Williams Road, who is wanted for distribution of Methadone and Lorcet and Marshall Todd Branch, 40, 617 Avenue C, who is wanted for distribution of Oxycontin. Anyone with info on the whereabouts of the Applewhites or Branch is urged to call the BPD at 732-3711.
