The Seder meal was enjoyed by area residents who were treated to matzot ball soup, a lamb roast, and baked chicken prepared by Elizabeth Roszoha of Mobile, AL. Haggadah readers were Ken Fisher of Rio, Linda Helton of Mobile and Joseph and Glynis Madison of Bogalusa, congregational leaders.
Pesach (pronounced Paysahkh) is the first of the seven annual "designated times of The Lord" (Lev. 23). Each of the "designated times of The Lord" have a two-fold purpose: To commemorate the past and to reveal the workings of The Tzaddik, ben Yosef, ben David, ben Yacov, ben Yitzak, ben Avraham (in the English tongue, The Righteous One, son of Joseph, son of David, son of Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham).
Historically, Pesach commemorates Israel's deliverance and redemption from Egyptian bondage through Adonai's servant Moshe'. Prophetically, Pesach commemorates lsrael's deliverance and redemption from the bondage of sin through Adonai's servant Mashiach Yahshua, who fulfilled the Tanach and set the fulfillment of the Brit Hadashah (New Covenant of Jeremiah 31:31-34) into motion.
"As a Messianic Jewish congregation, we affirm that Yahshua of Natzeret (Jesus of Nazareth) is the Jewish Messiah spoken of by the Patriarchs and prophets and by Yahshua's Jewish taimidim (disciples)," a church spokesperson said. "We affirm our Hebrew heritage and desire to walk in His ways."
