Stacey Stogner dies Wednesday Following mill accident

BOGALUSA - Stacey Stogner, 34, of Angie, who was injured in an industrial accident at Temple-Inland early Saturday morning, died about 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

Stogner had undergone surgery following the accident and was recovering at LSU-Bogalusa Medical Center at the time of his death.

Stogner's father, Milton, had said his son was allowed to sit up Monday and was given chipped ice to eat but no solid foods. "From Saturday to today (Tuesday) he's improved a lot but he still has a ways to go," he said in a Wednesday story..

A service operator on the No. 8 paper machine, Stogner was injured when he was pinned between his machine and a roll of paper in the accident, which occurred about 3:45 a.m.

"We are all deeply saddened by this loss and extend our heart-felt sympathy and condolences to Stacey's family. Our primary concern at present is for the aid and comfort of family members and employees touched by his loss."

Funeral arrangements are pending with Brown-McGehee Funeral Home.
