Franklinton police arrest two in music theft case By Jacob BrooksThe Daily News FRANKLINTON - Two people were arrested on a flurry of theft and burglary charges Wednesday. William Dubroc, 23, and Matthew Jenkins, 24, both of Franklinton, were arrested by Franklinton Police Wednesday following a week of stealing gas, gas cans, electronics and even a license plate from another car, said Detective Justin Brown of the Franklinton Police Department. The two men lived at a house on Lee Street near the East Acres neighborhood, and siphoned gas and stole gas cans from the area, Brown said. They also stole a license plate from a car in the area, and placed it on their car, police said. On May 24, the two broke into a Franklinton music store, stealing 14 speakers, amplifiers and other equipment, Brown said. Both men have been charged with simple burglary, criminal damage to property and multiple theft charges. Police broke the case after FPD Sgt. James Holmes did a background check on the stolen license plate, finding out that it was stolen, and soon finding other stolen merchandise in the car used by the men. |
