Edward Howard Williams, 90, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at his residence in Bogalusa.

He is survived by eight children: Nuella Thomas of New Orleans; John Williams of Bogalusa; Betty (Emile) Maddock of California City, Calif; Melvina (Willie) Powell of Spanaway, Wash.; Lois Owens of Bogalusa; Anna (Teddy) Mitchell of Crowley; Ceolia (Lester) Green of Bogalusa; and Dianne Fowler of Spanaway, Wash.

He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Marcell Trouill, a sister-in-law, Estelle Rockmore, and 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Span Williams; a son, Master Sgt. Gean Williams; two sisters, Mabel Sellers and Alice Oree; three brothers, John Wesley Williams, Sam Williams and Nathan Williams; his parents, John Edward and Willie May Williams; one grandchild, Danielle Owens; and sons-in-law, Roman Fowler and Roy Thomas.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 19 at Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. or at the family hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 20 at 12 noon at the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bogalusa, with Rev. Dr. Aaron J. Thompson, Sr. and Rev. Alonzo Magee, Sr., officiating. Interment will take place in Bogalusa Cemetery.
