Now is the time to clean up your property

As reported last week, local men and women are working hard during the Magic City Cleanup Campaign, a bi-annual quadrant cleanup that started Monday.

“We’ll take anything,” said Bogalusa Director of Public Works James Hall.

Hall encourages everybody to take advantage of the chance to get rid of huge amounts of trash free of charge. It’s spring cleaning on a grand scale, he said.

The quadrants are sectioned off by the railroad tracks and Willis Avenue. City crews will be in the northwest quadrant March 2 - 13, the northeast quadrant March 16-24, the southeast quadrant March 25 through April 7 and the southwest quadrant April 8-17.

Too many properties in Bogalusa have rotting tree limbs or appliances littering the yard, causing eyesores and safety hazards. The idea is simple: Move the trash to the curb, and workers will take it away. If everyone does their part, Bogalusa will be a better place to live.
