Luvenia Lear Kennedy, age 69, died on Wednesday, Mar. 4 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington. A resident of Washington Parish, she was a member of the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church, owner/operator of a food store and held various other jobs during her lifetime.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William D. Kennedy of Angie; her father, William Leonard Seals of Franklinton; a son, Mark (Suzi) Kennedy of Varnado; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Kennedy of Varnado; two sisters, Versie Lee Seals (Don) Wheat of Pine and Eva Glyn Seals (Richard) Blackwell of Denham Springs.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Mae Singley Seals; two sons, William Kennedy and Raymond Eugene Kennedy; two brothers, William Leonard Seals Jr. and Lavon Seals.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Mar. 5 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Donnie Broom, Rev. Clyde Cooper and Rev. Mark Hobgood officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
