Celia Reeves McDaniel, age 89, passed away Wednesday, Mar. 4 at her residence in Franklinton.

Born March 29, 1919, she was a member of Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church, a graduate of Franklinton High School and attended two years of college at Northwestern State University.

She is survived by four sons: Velwood B. (Linda) McDaniel of Gulf Shores, Ala., John R. (Theresa) McDaniel of Conroe, Texas, Truman (Mary Alice) McDaniel of Denham Springs and Kenneth D. McDaniel of Franklinton; six grandchildren: Kimberly Brown and Kevin McDaniel, both of Atlanta, Ron McDaniel of Baton Rouge, Regan McDaniel of The Woodlands, Texas, Chad McDaniel of Kingwood, Texas and Cliff McDaniel of Central, La.; 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Edee Reeves Templet of Baton Rouge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, V.E. McDaniel; an infant son, Jimmie Dale McDaniel; her parents, Cohn and Esther Reeves and six brothers.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 6, continuing on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Stoney Point Missionary Baptist Church with Eld. Billy Mac Lowry and Eld. Brent King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
