Gary and many of his friends were also past members of Explorer Post 182 under the leadership of Rand Porter during Post’s several year reigns as champions in the annual Bogue Chitto River Canoe Marathon.

Gary is survived by his mother, Louvre Alexander of Bogalusa, his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Linda Alexander of Waterford, Connecticut, his brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Carla Alexander of Covington, his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Donald Remson of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, and his friend, Shannon Fornea of Bogalusa. Also, Nanna-boo, who held a special place in his heart.

" Gary - You were always such a great friend in high school. You really were! You ALWAYS made me laugh (especially in chemistry) and I can hardly remember a time when you weren't in a good mood.

You will truly be missed, my friend. Please say hello to my dad and sister.
    With much love and sadness,
    Jodi "
