Richard “Ricky” E. Dillon, age 55, died on Monday, March 23 at his residence in Rio.

He was retired from Temple Inland and a member of Palestine Baptist Church. He was also a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Dillon; a daughter, Amanda Dillon Nielsen; a stepdaughter, Melanie (Dusty) McKenzie; a son,

Scott (Rachel) Wise; his mother-in-law, Joyce Irvine; a sister, Kathy (Mike) Kellar; and four grandchildren: Breanna Wise, Nicholas Wise, Macie McKenzie, Daylon McKenzie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Dillon and Barbara King.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred Brumfield and Rev. Ed Jenkins will officiate, with interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Banks, Jimmy Willis, Mike Stogner, John Stogner, Josh Stogner, Dempsey Parden, Ricky McMillan, Bud Mizell.
