Zelia Stringer Crowe

Zelia Stringer Crowe, age 83, a resident of Franklinton died at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. She retired after many years as clerk of Forshag’s Drug Store. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Diane Crowe of Franklinton and Janice and Larry Hunt of Bogalusa; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Pam Crowe of Baton Rouge; daughter-in-law, Cindy (Randy) Brumfield of Franklinton; six sisters, Oneida Thomas of Bogalusa, Betty Rothermel of Mt. Hermon, Thelma Thomas and Peggy Populis both of Walker, Mary Adams and Katherine Crain both of Denham Springs; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Toxie “Jack” Crowe; son, Lonnie Crowe; granddaughter, Terri Lynn Hunt; great-grandson, Tyler Crowe; parents, Ottis and Lillie Stringer; brothers, Woodrow and Billy Stringer.

Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at Crain Funeral Home and continued after 9 a.m. on Monday until time for funeral services at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Stan Statham and Rev. Robert Lee officiating. Interment followed in the Sunlight Baptist Church Cemetery.
