New America guided by reckless Democrats

Lou Major Sr.

aRepublican Party bigwigs got together last week at a pizza joint near D. C. to form the National Council for a New America.

They didn't sign a "contract" for America, I suppose, because Newt Gingrich wasn't there. I don't know if Newt was invited or not, but if he wasn't, he should have been.

Rep. Eric Cantor from Virginia is credited with getting this started with the hope that the Grand Ole Party can start winning something one of these days. Ex-Gov. Jeb Bush was there along with Massachusetts ex-Gov. Mitt Romney.

I don't recall hearing too many respected Republicans blaming the presidential loss on a lousy campaign by Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. Two years ago nobody outside shouting distance of Chicago ever heard of Barack Obama. The Republicans initially laughed him off as a joke that the Democrats were putting before the American people in desperation.

Only after Obama began his spirited speeches did the Republicans, I among them, begin to think that maybe this African American senator from Illinois had a chance. But as Obama's campaign began rolling like a bowling ball, Sen. McCain was sleep-walking across the country in a snoozer of a campaign.

"My friends McCain" reached out in desperation to Alaska to pick a woman, Gov. McCain, grasping at straws in the misguided hope that something – anything -- could wake up potential voters to listen to his promises.

I felt sorry for Gov. Palin, an attractive woman who set the standard for eyeglass fashion. I like Gov. Palin; I think she has done very well for her folks up in frigidland. But I do not think Gov. Palin was ready to become President of the United States in the event something happened to Sen. McCain.

We do, indeed, have a "new " America, but it is evolving only because of the financial recklessness of the ruling Democratic Party. I don't know who's going to pay for all the stuff that's coming down the pike. No telling what their "universal health care" boondoggle is going to cost.

No telling what it will cost if the government guarantees a free college education for every kid in America.

Billions for failed banks, billions for failed auto-makers, billions in foreign aid even to enemies of our country. Millions and millions in wasteful earmarks all over the country.

Is anybody going to ask the president this one question: how are the American people going to pay for all this? Give us the details, one million dollars at a time.

Today, let's tell the truth: the Republicans don't have a clue what to do to stop the Democratic party financial runaway. There is no leader. McCain is finished; Palin is not the answer; unfortunately Romney is tagged as not electable because he is a Mormon (baloney), Gingrich has too much personal baggage; Rep. Cantor is unheard of.

The GOP better get busy if it hopes to win Congressional seats next year. And even so, the country has more than three and-a-half years of liberal government in Maison Blanche.

" everybody is all talking about their party, about their black man against the white man, about how bush messed, etc. everybody don't get the BIG picture. Obama and the majority of those clowns have close connection with unions, big buisiness, etc. the man on the street controls the economy. America will never be the same because we have been sold out by the greedy politicians and are controlled by the liberal media. the only change must be made by YOU! "

We must be carefull in following the leader, especially when the leader is leading us in the paths of unrighteousness. You can say it til you're blue in the face, that politics and religion don't mix. Do This: google George Washington or Abe Lincoln and compare their principles and standards to Obama's. "

People talk big about values but the Bible never asked Christians to start political movements or vote Republican. We were told to take care of the poor, the elderly, the sick. We weren't told to allow the rich to prosper, nor to look down on the unemployed , the poor, the handicapped. "

The truth is that President Obama is trying to clean up this mess the best way he can. He can't do it alone. If the Republicans have all the answers, then why didn't they get voted in. If anyone has the answers, step forward, if not stop blaming President Obama, he is just trying to do his job. "

Do you all not realize that last summer when gas prices were shot to the moon Bush was in office? When it was approved for $700 billion dollars to go to the war in Iraq where were you all then? The recession did not start after the election, it was already happening when Bush was still in office. PRESIDENT Obama inherited this mess form the good ole Republicans, he didn't create it dummies!!!! "

A wife who was given a very high paying job that just so happened to put six figure income into their household while Obama "just so happened" to be a political figure in Chicago - now suddenly, that job she held is now gone. Hmmm....
Academic and legislative records, actual votes (other than the famous "present"), etc. We know EXACTLY who he is. "

By the way, where is all the outrage over the massive losses at Fannie and Freddie even while they are handing out HUGE bonuses (dwarfing AIG) ??

The record is clear: anti-business (except for their political cronies and contributors), massive spending, corruption, waste and fraud. More spending under Pelosi/Obama than all previous administrations COMBINED. "

You are exactly right. I am at a lost for words reading what those like Rusty are saying. President Obama is being blamed for things that were initiated by Bush. And Sarah Palin doesn't have a clue and can't buy a vowel. She is incapable of reading from a teleprompter correctly. There is no comparrison between her and President Obama. The sooner you and others with like thoughts admit with the Republicans have done, the better off you will be. Bogalusa and its corruption...you can have it! "

Where were you when Presdient Bush and other republicans were spending billions upon billions in Iraq? No bid contracts, water boarding etc. Where was the concern for the future generations then? Bush gave unaccounted in billions to the banks before President Obama took office. The economy was tanking long before President Bush left office. The repubilcans was in charge of both houses for six yrs under Bush. Bush had 8yrs. Republicans in office in Bogalusa continues to run it in the ground also. just look around at the blight in the school system and the city. "

As far as how the spending will be paid for in the future: with the jobs created and tby educated citizens who will benefit from the new proposed programs. I ask you, Mr. Majors, what have we gained over the last eight years? I can tell you how we paid for it: the lives of our sons and daughters. "

" The economic crisis in a nut-shell: Under Bush the job market grew for 52 months straight. Oil became more in-demand, increasing the price from $1 per-gallon to $1.75. In 2006 the American people, with the help of ACORN, voted in a Democratic fillibuster in Congress. Nancy Pelosi became the ruler of MMS, the gov. agency controlled by congress to monitor the oil and gas industry. In a matter of months the U.S. went from having 1300 producing platforms to around 800, leaving us at the mercy of the arabs. Gas sky-rocketed to $4 per gallon, bankrupting the American People. "

What are you thinking? For starters, it's PRESIDENT OBAMA! Get used to it! Secondly, if the elementary school scenario plays true...President Obama would still be the winner. If either of you intellecutally followed politics and what's going on with the economy, you would know that it was the doing of the Republican Party that initiated this disaster. Why do you think so many "former" republicans are now democrats? And even those that didn't official change their party, that voted for the democratic candidate. Republicans look out for republicans. The more the goverment can help the more they control. The Democrat way. Our people are like elementary students. Two students run for class president. Johnny has straight A's, member of all types of smart clubs, wants what is best for classmates etc... Sussy says I have free Ice cream for everyone who votes for me. Sussy wins by a land slide. "
