aRepublican Party bigwigs got together last week at a pizza joint near D. C. to form the National Council for a New America.
They didn't sign a "contract" for America, I suppose, because Newt Gingrich wasn't there. I don't know if Newt was invited or not, but if he wasn't, he should have been.

I don't recall hearing too many respected Republicans blaming the presidential loss on a lousy campaign by Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. Two years ago nobody outside shouting distance of Chicago ever heard of Barack Obama. The Republicans initially laughed him off as a joke that the Democrats were putting before the American people in desperation.
Only after Obama began his spirited speeches did the Republicans, I among them, begin to think that maybe this African American senator from Illinois had a chance. But as Obama's campaign began rolling like a bowling ball, Sen. McCain was sleep-walking across the country in a snoozer of a campaign.
"My friends McCain" reached out in desperation to Alaska to pick a woman, Gov. McCain, grasping at straws in the misguided hope that something – anything -- could wake up potential voters to listen to his promises.
I felt sorry for Gov. Palin, an attractive woman who set the standard for eyeglass fashion. I like Gov. Palin; I think she has done very well for her folks up in frigidland. But I do not think Gov. Palin was ready to become President of the United States in the event something happened to Sen. McCain.
We do, indeed, have a "new " America, but it is evolving only because of the financial recklessness of the ruling Democratic Party. I don't know who's going to pay for all the stuff that's coming down the pike. No telling what their "universal health care" boondoggle is going to cost.
No telling what it will cost if the government guarantees a free college education for every kid in America.
Billions for failed banks, billions for failed auto-makers, billions in foreign aid even to enemies of our country. Millions and millions in wasteful earmarks all over the country.
Is anybody going to ask the president this one question: how are the American people going to pay for all this? Give us the details, one million dollars at a time.
Today, let's tell the truth: the Republicans don't have a clue what to do to stop the Democratic party financial runaway. There is no leader. McCain is finished; Palin is not the answer; unfortunately Romney is tagged as not electable because he is a Mormon (baloney), Gingrich has too much personal baggage; Rep. Cantor is unheard of.
The GOP better get busy if it hopes to win Congressional seats next year. And even so, the country has more than three and-a-half years of liberal government in Maison Blanche.

We must be carefull in following the leader, especially when the leader is leading us in the paths of unrighteousness. You can say it til you're blue in the face, that politics and religion don't mix. Do This: google George Washington or Abe Lincoln and compare their principles and standards to Obama's. "

Zero executive experience.
Murky past, radical friends, history of bad decisions/judgements (if you believe him - I say his decisions and judgements actually REFLECT his true beliefs and intentions).
A wife who was given a very high paying job that just so happened to put six figure income into their household while Obama "just so happened" to be a political figure in Chicago - now suddenly, that job she held is now gone. Hmmm....
Academic and legislative records, actual votes (other than the famous "present"), etc. We know EXACTLY who he is. "

By the way, where is all the outrage over the massive losses at Fannie and Freddie even while they are handing out HUGE bonuses (dwarfing AIG) ??
The record is clear: anti-business (except for their political cronies and contributors), massive spending, corruption, waste and fraud. More spending under Pelosi/Obama than all previous administrations COMBINED. "

You are exactly right. I am at a lost for words reading what those like Rusty are saying. President Obama is being blamed for things that were initiated by Bush. And Sarah Palin doesn't have a clue and can't buy a vowel. She is incapable of reading from a teleprompter correctly. There is no comparrison between her and President Obama. The sooner you and others with like thoughts admit with the Republicans have done, the better off you will be. Bogalusa and its corruption...you can have it! "

Where were you when Presdient Bush and other republicans were spending billions upon billions in Iraq? No bid contracts, water boarding etc. Where was the concern for the future generations then? Bush gave unaccounted in billions to the banks before President Obama took office. The economy was tanking long before President Bush left office. The repubilcans was in charge of both houses for six yrs under Bush. Bush had 8yrs. Republicans in office in Bogalusa continues to run it in the ground also. just look around at the blight in the school system and the city. "

What are you thinking? For starters, it's PRESIDENT OBAMA! Get used to it! Secondly, if the elementary school scenario plays true...President Obama would still be the winner. If either of you intellecutally followed politics and what's going on with the economy, you would know that it was the doing of the Republican Party that initiated this disaster. Why do you think so many "former" republicans are now democrats? And even those that didn't official change their party, that voted for the democratic candidate. Republicans look out for republicans. "

I hope you don't think Obama was more qualified than Sarah Palin. All the things you talk about is exactly the way the Democrats have been wanting it. The more the goverment can help the more they control. The Democrat way. Our people are like elementary students. Two students run for class president. Johnny has straight A's, member of all types of smart clubs, wants what is best for classmates etc... Sussy says I have free Ice cream for everyone who votes for me. Sussy wins by a land slide. "
