28-year-old man shot, killed outside his home in Bogalusa

A Bogalusa resident was shot to death outside his home in the early hours of Saturday, and police believe Robert Charles Williams, 28, 706 City Limits Rd. was the victim of both murder and robbery.

“We think he was outside his residence when he was approached by three males who tried to rob him and ended up killing him,” said Capt. Joe Culpepper.

The Bogalusa Police Department has been interviewing witnesses, and the incident is still under investigation, he said.

The BPD got a call about the shooting at 1:52 a.m. Saturday.

“EMS responded, but the victim was dead at the scene,” said Culpepper.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call the BPD at any time at 732-BUST or 732-3611, or at 732-6238 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Callers may remain anonymous.
