Hardy Henry, age 94, departed this life on Tuesday, June 23 at Gulf States LTAC in Bogalusa.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Bowens Batiste Henry of Bogalusa; two daughters: Derana (Arthur) Newton of Willingboro, N.J. and Cheryl (Lawrence) Hairston of Columbus, Ohio; three sons: Ira K. (Rhea) Batiste of Bogalusa, Willie Raymond (Adrean) Batiste of Bogalusa and Ralph C. Batiste of Baton Rouge; two nieces: Linda (Oscar) Jefferson of Angie and Toni V. Henry of New Llane, La.; one nephew, Willie G. (Joyce) Henry of Covington; nine grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Cora Lott Henry; two brothers, Esco Henry and Joseph Henry; two sisters, Annie Mae Henry and Sophronia Henry; and one son, Stanley Batiste Jr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29 in the chapel of Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Sweet Beulah Baptist Church in Bogalusa at 1 p.m., with Rev. James Magee, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
