Jacqueline Leblanc Herbert, 70, a resident of Franklinton, died at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26 at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. She was born August 12, 1938 in New Orleans and lived there most of her life, later moving to Hammond and Franklinton. She volunteered often with the after-school program at Holy Family Catholic Church and was always a loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three sons: Harry (Dawn) Herbert of LaPlace, Keith Herbert of Carthage, Tenn. and James (Renee’) Herbert of Franklinton; a daughter, Kim (James) Crain of Kenner; a daughter-in-law, Juanita Herbert of Pontchatoula and 14 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Herbert; a son, David Alan Herbert and her parents, Harry Leblanc Jr. and Emma Ford Leblanc.
A memorial mass will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1318 Bickham Street, in Franklinton, with Father Peter Hammett officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church Youth Outreach program.
