FRANKLINTON -- Four burglaries and one theft have been reported in the Pine area during the past two weeks, and deputies are asking residents to be on the lookout for suspicious activity.

The burglar or burglars stole items from tool sheds or similar outdoor buildings, said Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Shannon Lyons. No homes have been broken into, and in the theft case, an item was stolen out of someone’s yard, he said.

Power tools and similar equipment have been stolen, Lyons said. The reported cases took place on Austin Crain Road, Monroe Knight Road, Dollar Road and Louisiana Highways 436 and 62.

Investigators are working on the cases and ask the public for any information.

“We want our residents to be vigilant, and report any suspicious activity,” Lyons said.

Sheriff Bobby Crowe is reading reports and staying on top of the investigation, Lyons added.

Those with information about the case are encouraged to call the WPSO Detectives division, 839-7809.
