Mary Louise Chatmon

Mary Louise Chatmon died Friday, July 24 at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband, Henry W. Chatmon of Bogalusa; two daughters, Shawn C. (Ricky) Jefferson of Bogalusa and Shannon H. Chatmon of Biloxi, Miss.; three grandchildren: Broderick (Trakemia) Chatmon Sr., Brett Chatmon and Brittany Scott, all of Bogalusa; five great-grandchildren: Shaunte’ Chatmon, Broderick Chatmon Jr., Brendon Chatmon, Essence Scott and Yasmine Chatmon, all of Bogalusa; seven siblings: Raleigh Callahan, Mercedes Callahan, Beverly Penn and Kenneth (Gate) Callahan, all of Covington; Charlotte (Johnny) Thomson of Phoenix, Deborah (Robert) Callahan of Los Angeles and Cheryl (Josh) Watson of New Orleans; two cousins, Ora Stein Monk of Bogalusa and Gloria Reed of Los Angeles.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bre’ Shawn Chatmon and four siblings: Alfred Callahan Jr., H. J. Callahan, Delores Callahan and Nolan Callahan.

 A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 420 Church Street, in Bogalusa, at 12 noon, with Rev. R. L. Palmer, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
