Council meeting Tuesday to include five public hearings BY MARCELLE HANEMANNThe Daily News The regular meeting of the Bogalusa City Council Tuesday will include five public hearings, three involving the water system and two concerning zoning. The first hearing is for a Supplement Bond Ordinance that would authorize the issuance of up to $5 million of Water Revenue Bonds. The proposed ordinance additionally prescribes the form plus certain terms and conditions, designates them as Build America Bonds and provides for other related matters. The second hearing is on a General Bond Ordinance to authorize the issuance “from time to time” of Water Revenue Bonds of the City of Bogalusa. It also prescribes the form and certain terms and conditions, as well as provides for the payment “in principal and interest” and provides for other related matters. The third hearing is for an ordinance that would authorize Mayor Mack McGehee to enter into a contract with Professional Engineering Consultants Corporation for the citywide water meter installation project. It would repeal “any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith.” The fourth hearing concerns an ordinance that would amend the city’s Zoning Ordinance to include Bed and Breakfasts in B-Transition zones and to set related limitations. The fifth is for an ordinance that would authorize the mayor to change the zoning classification from A-3 Residential to C-Commercial so an outdoor stage could be built at Bennie’s Wings and Things in the 500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The council meetings take place in the courtroom of City Hall at 5:30 p.m.
