She was a devoted Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in Sun. Over her lifetime, she faithfully served as Sunday School teacher, clerk and pianist, fulfilling her heart’s desire of serving her Lord. She was also a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
She is survived by a son, Dale King of Sun; a daughter, Diane King (Earl) Plummer of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, Jerry (Earline) Willis of Bush; two sisters, Linda Willis (Dennis) Tisdale of Covington and Cloie Willis (Tom) Anderson of Abita Springs; four grandchildren: Karen King (Richard) Powell of Bogalusa, Shayne King of Bogalusa, Brandon Ellis of Bay St. Louis, Miss. and Jennifer Plummer o Marietta; seven great-grandchildren: Kayla Cotton, Elizabeth and Karson Powell, Danacee, Hannah and Shaynna King and Taylor Plummer and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 5 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Stanley Salassi of Sun First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in First Baptist Church Cemetery in Sun.
