Edward Shelby Taylor Edward Shelby Taylor, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009 at Gulf States LTAC in Bogalusa. He was a member of Ben’s Ford Missionary Baptist Church and serviced in the Army-Air Force in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Irene Taylor, of Bogalusa; one son, William “Billy” Taylor of Ponchatoula; four stepsons: Rodney (Pam) Smith of Zachary, Gregory (Dana) Smith of Bogalusa, Rickey (Debbie) Smith of Hammond and Darin (Michelle) Smith of Zachary; four daughters: Sondra Taylor (Otis) Pierce of Katy, Texas, Amber Taylor (Robert) of Abita Springs, Jerry Lynn Taylor (Bryan) Lobrano of Slidell and Barbara Taylor of Slidell; two stepdaughters: Debbie (Randy) Hayman of St. Francisville and Julie Smith of Abita Springs; and a sister, Yevonne Taylor Pierce of Bogalusa; 33 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Taylor Horne; his parents, William W. and Eula Taylor; a brother, Willie Ray Taylor and a sister, Agnes Taylor Walker. Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Brown-McGeHee Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday, from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service to be held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Bro. Shad Pittman and Bro. Jimmy Byrd will officiate. Burial will follow in Hillview Memorial Gardens, with military rites conducted by Magic City Post 24 of the American Legion.
