He was born during Thanksgiving 1940 to Edwin and Myrtle Morris of Superior Avenue and the world became a brighter place. He graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1958 and Southeastern Louisiana University in 1963. He became well known as a health care administrator, having worked as the assistant administrator at the Bogalusa Community Medical Center, the administrator of Resthaven Nursing Home and Northshore Living Center in Slidell. He retired from healthcare in early 2000 and worked in real estate with Vivian Ready and Betsy Knight.
He was a member of several organizations, the most important of which was the Brothers of Center Lodge No. 244 and the congregation of Highland Baptist Church.

Visitation was held on Monday, Aug. 10 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., followed by a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Visitation continued Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Pastor Charles Rogers officiating. Interment followed in the Ponemah Cemetery.
