100th baby born at hospital’s new ward Staff ReportFriday, Sept. 4 marked a milestone at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center. The hospital’s Special Beginnings Family Center, or maternity ward, delivered its 100th baby since reopening last year. Before that, it had been 10 years since babies were being regularly born in Washington Parish. According to Patsy Welch, the nurse supervisor of the Special Beginnings Family Center, the 100th baby — Hudson Isaiah Dagraffenfeid — was born in the new facility at 10:55 a.m. Friday. Helping mother April Dagraffenreid with the delivery were nurses Patsy Welch and Amy Lander and Dr. Ronald McLendon, who posed for a photo with mother and child following the birth. Mother and baby are doing fine, the hospital reported.
