Jimmy E. Brock, 58, was shot and killed while driving his vehicle on the 1400 block of Alford Street around 11 p.m., according to Franklinton Police Department Lt. Justin Brown.
“He was shot once in the back, and once in the head,” Brown said.

Bautista was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Jenkins was charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
The murder investigation began after police got a 9-1-1 call at 11:09 p.m. about a car accident on Alford Street. When officers responded, they found Brock dead at the scene.
“Investigators contacted the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab to assist in processing the vehicle for evidence. Shortly after processing the vehicle, investigators interviewed potential witnesses,” according to press release from FPD.
Detectives soon learned Bautista and Jenkins were suspects in the crime, and arrested the two on Monday after questioning them.
“The original motive disclosed by one of the defendants was robbery, however the suspects orchestrated an elaborate ruse to commit the crime,” according to the press release.
“Delaris Jenkins posed as a female by wearing a wig and was able to somehow gain access into Brock’s vehicle. Once Brock discovered that Jenkins was not who or what he appeared to be, he ordered Jenkins from the vehicle. Jimmy Brock returned to the area a short time later and this is when Kendarrious Bautista possibly forced his way into the vehicle. For an unknown reason, Kendarrious Bautista fired two shots killing Jimmy Brock. Bautista jumped from the moving vehicle and fled the scene along with Jenkins. Brock’s vehicle came to a rest after striking a gas meter, mailbox and finally a tree,” according to the press release.
Ironically enough, Jimmy Brock’s family reported he was dating Elizabeth Harvey up until her death in Nov. 2008, according to FPD. Harvey was the mother of Faith Hathaway who was murdered by Robert Lee Willie and Joe Vaccaro on May 28, 1980. The homicide eventually spawned the book and movie “Dead Man Walking.” After Faith Hathaway’s murder, Harvey became a staunch advocate of victim’s rights and victim notification.
