• LOCAL INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS that took part in the recent Dollar Defense Workshop, an event aimed at helping the elderly be aware about the dangers of scams.
• FRANKLINTON POLICE DEPARTMENT AND ASSISTING AGENCIES, for a quick arrest in the first murder of the year to occur in Franklinton. A Mandeville man was shot and killed on Alford Street on Sunday, and two Franklinton teenagers were arrested in the case the next day.
