Alice Juanita Bradford

Alice Juanita Bradford was born on Aug. 11, 1930 and surrounded by her family, went to be with her Lord on Sept. 22, 2009. She was 79.

A former resident of Gordo, Ala., she currently resided in Franklinton. A loving, generous lady who had a way of making everyone she met a part of her family, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, canning and gardening, but most of all she loved singing and praising God. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy in McComb, Miss. She and her husband were the owners of Bradford Trucking and AJB Trucking, where all the drivers affectionately knew her as “Aunt B.” They always counted on eating her famous homemade biscuits.

An amazing mother and grandmother, she is survived by six daughters: Carolyn (Gary) Anderson, Leeds, Ala.; Teresia Bradford, Palmetto, Fla.; Wanda, Dorlene and Linda Gail Bradford and Lisa (Wendall) Holmes; three sons: Mike (Eloise) Bradford, Steve (Linda) Bradford and Danny (Deneen) Bradford, all of Franklinton; two brothers, James (Sybil) Duncan of Gordo and Leon (Barbara) Duncan of Baker; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Bradford; one son, Jimmy R. Bradford and her sister, Dorothy Etheridge.

The wake will be on Friday, Sept. 25 from 5 p.m. to 9p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time for her life celebration at a.m. The service will be held in the chapel of Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, with burial at the Tylertown Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Cardiac Care Unit at St. Tammany Parish Hospital for the wonderful care and attention that they gave our mother, and for the care and support they showed our family. Pallbearers will be all her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
