Owe the city money? Check the paper edition BY MARCELLE HANEMANNThe Daily News Nearly 3,000 people have outstanding charges and accompanying attachments with the Bogalusa Police Department, and over the next two months, they’ll have a chance to take care of business at a discounted rate. The BPD, offices of Bogalusa City Court, the city prosecutor and city marshal have announced amnesty dates during which the fines and costs on the outstanding attachments will be waived if the proper procedures are followed. The attachments are for things like failure to appear in court, failure to pay fines and failure to do community service. The fines and costs normally add up to $226 per attachment. An alphabetized list of people with BPD attachments begins on page 9A of the Wednesday newspaper. Those on the list are advised not to call the police or city court, but to come to the police department, 214 Arkansas Ave., during one of the following time frames: Oct. 6 to 9 — 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 10 — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 3 to 6 — 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 7 — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
