Annette Morris Garrick Annette Morris Garrick, 79, passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009 at Louisiana Heart Hospital. Born Oct. 20, 1929, she was a native of Bogalusa, the daughter of Denton Oscar Morris and Eunice Kemp Morris. She worked for many years at First State Bank in Bogalusa; She was elected Worthy Matron of the Jasmine Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, Sate of Louisiana, in 1992. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and worked at the Bogalusa Branch of the Washington Parish Library in recent years. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Bogalusa. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wyman C. Garrick; her niece, Barbara Bacot (James) Toney of McComb, Miss.; a nephew, Simmie Stivender of Huntsville, Texas and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald Denton Morris and Jewell Ellis Morris; one sister, Willie Morris Bacot and two nephews, Robert and David Morris. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and continued on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Larry Mizell officiating. Burial will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.
