Homer Ott Branch Jr.

Homer Ott Branch Jr., 82, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center. A resident of Bogalusa, he was a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church, a member of Center Lodge No. 244 F&AM and a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by two sons, homer O. Branch III of New Orleans and Marshall Todd Branch of Bogalusa; two daughters, Aleia Dawn Sloan of Abita Springs and Karen Colleen Stogner of Poplarville, Miss.; four grandchildren: Justin Clay Carroll, Marsha Danielle Branch, Daphnne Ellen Branch and Jacob Sloan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Forbes Branch; his parents, Homer O. and Maude Branch Sr.; one sister, Gayle Branch Hortman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. by Center Lodge No. 244 F&AM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Floyd Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Hillview Memorial Gardens.
