At least two Bogalusa natives were at Sun Life Stadium in South Florida Sunday to cheer on the Saints in the biggest sporting event of the year. The Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 31-17, to win the Super Bowl.

One of those natives is 19-year-old Danielle Hall, an LSU student and a Saintsation, who cheered on the team from the sidelines. The other is Gregory Arlt of Bogalusa, a senior at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and an avid Saints fan.

Arlt, who turned 24 Sunday, is a Saints season ticket holder.

According to a family member, Arlt drives in from Monroe for all of the Saints home games and was in the Superdome to witness the Saints’ first NFC championship. He was one of the lucky Super Bowl lottery winners, and was able to purchase an $800 ticket. Arlt is the son of Greg and Mary Jane Arlt.

For Hall, the past week has been very busy, said her mother, Donna Hall.

Danielle and the rest of the Saintsations traveled to Florida Tuesday night, and spent Wednesday at Universal Studios in Orlando. On Thursday, they got to Miami and have been practicing, and attending pre-game events ever since.

Danielle graduated in 2008 from Bowling Green School where she was a member of the Buccanettes Dance Team and served as captain her senior year. At LSU last year, Danielle was a member of the LSU Golden Girl Dance Team.

“In addition to performing at NFL Saints home football games, the Saintsations have traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan to visit our troops and were recognized for their community service efforts by the Louisiana Legislature.  Team members recently returned from a week-long NFL promotional trip to Mexico,” according to a press release from the Saintsations.

As part of Super Bowl week, the Saintsations were scheduled to appear on Fox and Friends, the CBS Early Show, the Bill O’Reilly show and make numerous appearances.

On Super Bowl Sunday, the team performed at pre-game, and again after the first quarter, officials and family members said.

Danielle is the daughter of Donovan and Donna Hall, and the sister of Dustin Hall. She is the granddaughter of Danny and Cindy Thomas, Shirley Wells, Kenneth Schilling and the late Elaine Schilling and the late Kenneth Hall and the late Geri Hall.
