Police seeking person of interest in fatality

Louisiana State Police are looking for the driver of a white SUV that be may linked to a hit-and-run accident that killed a Bogalusa man on April 17 on Louisiana Highway 21.

Police have identified a white male in his mid-thirties, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches, as a person of interest in the accident, which claimed the life of Larry Boley, TFC Nick Manale said. He said the suspect was driving a white GMC Yukon.

The accident occurred as Boley, 48, was riding his bike in the northbound lane of LA 21. As he proceeded northbound, he was hit from behind by an unknown white SUV.

After impact, Boley and the bike were thrown approximately 100 feet north, coming to rest at the intersection of LA 21 and Pearl Lane.

Manale said the white SUV fled the scene and continued north.

Boley sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans, where he later died. Alcohol use is suspected by Boley with a toxicology test pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. Anyone with information should contact Troop L at 985-893-6250.
