Tyric McClain and LaKendrick McClain, sons of Karen McClain of Franklinton, have been selected to have their dream come true by the Dream Factory. Both boys have cerebral palsy and their wish is for things that will help them with their education.

Tyric, 12, has asked for a new TV with a DVD player, movies and a Game Boy.

Sixteen-year-old LaKendrick has a developing talent for art. He wished for a computer with software to help him further his passion for art. Some of his art work has been deemed quite good. In addtion to the computer, he will receive a printer, additional software and games.

The McClain brothers of Franklinton, both of whom have been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, were surprised and thrilled when their wishes were granted by the Dream Factory organization. Tyric, left, and LaKendrick couldn’t stop smiling. COURTESY PHOTO

The boys have three other siblings and each of the things the boys wished for will be used by the other children, which suits them just fine. The boys were quite unselfish, according to Dream Factory coordinator Audrey Pierce. “We were pleased to grant this double dream,” she said.

“In the near future we will take the entire family on a shopping spree to Best Buy, where the boys can pick out the items they have asked for. Included in this dream will be a limousine ride to and from Covington and a nice dinner afterwards.”

The Dream Factory is an all volunteer, mission driven organization that makes dreams come true for children with life threatening illnesses.
