Sunday alcohol now legal after 24 years of being legal

Remembering ‘Sixty’
Two years ago our great parish and state lost one of the greatest men who has ever passed through our area and that great leader was the honorable B.B. “Sixty” Rayburn. Mr. Rayburn was a man of great knowledge, wisdom, power and understanding. We all know that he was a giant in the political scene of the past and he accomplished many outstanding tasks as a servant of the people. Those who had the opportunity to talk with him, know he was a straightforward person and always let you know where he was coming from. He was that kind of a straight up leader. Mr. Sixty was a leader whom you could depend upon, and when he could help someone, he did, because he believed that in order to become an effective leader, you must first be willing to become servant of all the Bible has commanded.

City streets are pitiful
Driving around Bogalusa is like going through a minefield. Why have our city administrators let the streets go to pot? They have demonstrated pride in our city with their wonderful work on blighted housing, but I hope they will also direct their focus to the streets, now in critical disrepair.

Perrette has the right idea
I would like to commend Bogalusa City Councilwoman Wendy Perrette for having the courage to speak up concerning the personnel at City Hall.
